The power station fight has now ended but VVSM are still trying to resolve issues in the village.
These are the difficulties at present:-
1. A planning application was put in to build an industrial building near to railway cottages. This would have caused many issues for the residents and would also increased the size of the industrial estate. VVSM put their concerns forward and the application was refused.

It looks as though we still have problems with Blythe Park and it's surrounding area. They have submitted a second flood risk assessment through WaterCo to try to get the Environment Agency to change the flood map. We will once again be challenging decisions that unsatisfactorily change the flood map.

Just a reminder that the hog roast had to be cancelled this weekend due to poor ticket sales. We will however be having another Elvis night.

Jacquie discussed the withdrawl of the power station proposal, she reminded everyone that although Mr Wearmouth had stated
his own reasons for withdrawing he did not mention that the area is on a flood plain and that the Environment Agency did not receive Blythe Park Power's updated flood risk assessment. He also did not mention the inadequate infrastructure and the fact that the Highways Agency had not received their transport plan.

We raised £32 at the car boot. It was a poor turn out so we didn't sell everything. The remaining items we took to the Douglas MacMillan shop in Cheadle. The goods were much appreciated. Hope that's OK with you all. We will be giving the car boots a rest now.
