Mud on the roads
A small taste of the sort of problems that Cresswell might face should Blythe Park Power's plans for the power station go ahead were shown over the past couple of days.
Anyone driving through the village will have noticed a trail of mud from the industrial park entry, over the crossing and up the hill.
Why? It would appear that the owners of the park are completing some remediation work to cap off a section of pollutants once used by the colour works when they were in full ownership of previous owner Johnson Matthey.
That work relied on the transport of soil to part of the site within the industrial park, but the wagons transporting left red trails, made worse by the recent rain.
The matter was reported to Staffordshire County Highways Department and a roadsweeper was dispatched on Thursday to clear up some of the mess.
